OA-116 jumper positions

Post by JoelRiehl »

I have installed hifikit.se upgrade kit from hifikit, with help from Anders Forsberg. As per the upgrade instructions, I have positioned the red jumper nearest the midrange driver so that it is in the position parallel to the long side of the speaker.

Question: There is one other jumper - a blue one - on the front plate with the tweeters. It has 3 possible positions: forward parallel to long side, rearward parallel to long side, and rearward perpendicular to long side. What is the effect of those 3 positions on the sound of the speaker? I assume they adjust the brightness of the tweeters. I kept the original peerless tweeters in place - for now. Any information is appreciated.

"I assume they adjust the brightness of the tweeters." Correct

Carlssonkult says that the position closest to the listener gives the highest level.

STDI!, Thank you very much for the reply. I will start with them in that position. In honor of my 69 year old hearing.
