Restore woofers/midrange OA-116 R

Post by jomicacruz »

Hello to you all.
First time in the forum so I.m new in this matter ( Carlsson/ Sonab)
A friend offer me a pair of OA-116 R in very mint condition, only the woofers/ mids need new rubber rings.
Anyone with links to buy good rings? I can repair them myself cause the rest of speakers are very good including the impedance values.
Thanks.

About speaker edges

Post by ColesKing »

I ordered mine, for my OA2212, from http://www.speakerbits.com in Australia.

After enquiring around (here also) I was advised to NOT go for the rubber edging. Speakerbits sell both - at the same price - but the rubber edgeing causes the "sweetness" to be lost on the woofers/midranges.

Later upgrades to these drivers as sold by hifikit in Sweden have rubber surrounds - but then the whole cone, no doubt has been adjusted to take this into account.

The advice I received, was to replace with this kit, enough for two drivers:

1 kit 0651K (2 edges)

DC060P (2) dustcaps

It comes with comprehensive instructions, shims and glue and anyone who is a least bit "handy" can do the job.

I´ve ordered several spares for speakers from speakerbits.com and have never been disappointed. Try them!
