Hi
I'm restoring an original pair of OA50's. Both speakers are missing the felt hoods that fit over the original Peerless tweeters. Does anyone have an old pair of hoods (perhaps left over from an upgrade to OA50.3) they are willing to sell?
Also the absorbent panels are looking bad - they are disoloured and stained. Can anyone suggest a way to clean these or possibly re-coat them?
Thanks for any help.
Greg

Re: Carlsson OA50 restoration
Hi
Have you checked under downloads "Carlsson Ortho-Acoustic Loudspeakers: Design and performance priniples" ther you can read a bit about the felt and the damping panels.
The felt is no big issue, just get felt of good quaity and replace.
Best regards
Martin

Re: Carlsson OA50 restoration
Thanks for the help. A couple more questions. I am hooking up new woofers. The speaker wires inside are coloured orange and brown. Can anyone confirm which colour is the positive wire and which is negative?
Also can anyone recommend a good (and safe) way to clean years of dirt off the soft dome tweeters?
Thanks again for any helpful suggestions.
