OA-14 work in this placement in my room?

Post by starkiller »

Have a set of OD11's, the Cube, presently doing a wonderful job in my computer room. Have a chance to get a set of OA-14's at a great price but don't know how well they would work where they will have to be placed. Here are a couple of pics. Thoughts very much appreciated!!

But they are bigger and might not be so much better. You will not detect very much difference. I got a little more potent bass in the room next to the speaker room. Otherwise, I was rather disapppointed. The OD 11:ns are magnificent speakers. Small and potent.

Well, I hope they sound good as I bought them :) Will update in a few weeks when they are in the room and being played...

Maybe you should have a look in the original OA-14 manual regarding the room setup etc. An extract from the manual may be a first guidance "Sonab's ortoaccustic stereo speakers, have been built to stand on the floor against the wall and are designed to co-operate acoustically in this position with the wall itself". Download it from the CarlssonPlanet.com: http://www.carlssonplanet.com/en/downlo ... 14-manual/
I'm certain that you will find the right setup and an improved sound.

Already have the manual and have read it thoroughly but it did address items such as items on sides of the speakers themselves. Of course it did not mention computer rooms as there was no such thing back then :) That's why I posted here to ask folks if anyone had a similar setup with items close to the sides of the speakers...

There is not much space in my livingroom, so in the center I have a low cupboard that I use as TV-bench, obviously with my TV-set on top. There is less than a foot space between the cupboard/bench an my speakers (OA12).

Works fine for me.
