AO14 Sonab tweeter adjustments

Post by islanddave1 »

Hello all.

I just purchased a pair of Sonab ao14 speakers that are in great condition. How do the jumpers effect the tweeter function? I have a blue jumper and is in the outer most position and has a blue corresponding dot under the jumper. I have also seen different coloured jumpers used. what is the purpose of the different colours, and which position of jumper means what?

Thank You!

The colour of the jumper has no special mening, it differs between batches of speakers made. I have red ones on my OA12.

The dot under the jumpers indicate factory settings. The speakers are tested and the best position of the jumper is decided. Then it is matched with another speaker to make a pair. If tweeters are replaced with newer ones the jumpers may be bypassed.

Good luck with your precious find!

Highest level of tweeter is when the jumper is closest to the edge of the OA14 speaker.
Each step should reduce the level about 1-2 dB.
Just test what you like the most. It could even be placed differently between left and right speaker depending on how it´s placed in the room.
