I need to install a pair of bass drivers in my OA116's (newly purchased, and in the process of renovating) to replace
the incorrect 8 ohm no name brand currently installed.
I wondered if anyone had looked at or tried the 6.5" 4ohm bass driver from SB Acoustics (SB17NRXC35-4)
I know the Silver Flute is the recommended replacement, but the SB looks like a good alternative, although about
twice the price. Slightly more efficient than the Silver Flute, looks to be well made, appears to be a drop in fit, as well...
I would welcome any opinion or thoughts regarading the SB Acoustics as an alternative.
On the same note - would love to hear from anyone who has replaced the tweeters with the Obi T22's. Aside from a new crossover,
were these a "drop in" fit or did they require and modification or fabrication to physically mount the new tweeters ? Significant increase
in sound quality ?
Thank you !
